Paris, 2nd December 2014. 150 deputies of component manufacturers, representatives, distributors, union presidents and personnel from the electronic sector attended the 19th edition of SPDEI trophies, the festive ceremony that recognizes the best manufacturers of components during the past year. This year the trophies awarded by distributors were given to 27 companies in nine categories.
For this 19th ceremony, franchised distributors who are members of SPDEI, representing over 70% of the French distribution market, awarded their trophies in nine product categories. Component manufacturers are rated from 0 to 5 on five criteria: partnership with the distributor; innovation; price; quality and durability of the products; profitability for the distributor; resources allocated to the distributor for the support, protection and traceability of designs.
For this 19th ceremony 79% of SPDEI members voted, casting 170 votes and rating 100 component manufacturers.
For the Optoelectronic sector Kingbright won awards in all criteria, which is a significant honour for Kingbright. Jean-Cyril Dondoua, Sales Director for France & Iberia took the Award for 2014 from SPDEI.
About 
Syndicat Professionnel de la Distribution en Electronique Industrielle based in Paris was founded in 1972 to promote and support Electronics Industry distributors. It has since then also aimed to manage relationships between its members and provide them with appropriate information about the electronic market.
SPDEI is a partner of IDEA Electronics which is a federation of component distribution trade associations from several major world countries. The IDEA Council consists of the representatives from each Trade Association and usually meets twice a year to examine international standards and develop plans and programs for the Global Distribution Industry.
